The Riverhouse Inn by Veronica Mixon
Two Stars

Small town mystery by Veronica Mixon. This is an easy read, and continues characters from the first book. Although the city accounting investigation doesn’t hold much intrigue at the start, it leads to much a deeper injustice that affect many lives. The romance was a nice addition to the storyline compared to the first in this series.

Book Blurb:

TV anchor Harper Knowles is blindsided when her six-year-old son and soon-to-be ex-husband Bruce are reported missing. Leaving behind a tossed condo with priceless art left untouched. And blood. Too much blood.

Then the detective plays a video of Harper at the scene. Stunned, she argues she was miles away. But the police have conclusive DNA evidence, and charge her with a double murder.

Vowing to uncover the truth, Harper jumps bail and uses her skills as an investigative reporter to unwind a meticulous web of deceit. And every clue she unearths leads her closer to a woman residing in a small southern town called Loblolly.
